DESCRIPTION

Ron Levine has joined forces with Kalikori Olive Oil creators, Effy Ligris & Spyros Bourboulis, to offer a unique experience to photographers and foodies alike. With Effy and Spyros as our guides through the majestic Olive Oil region of Kalamata and Messinia in southwestern Greece, we will spend our days photographing, socializing, and breaking bread with the men and women who live in the small towns and villages of the region. With the coastal town of Pilos as our base, we will discover the secrets of the best olive oil cake, and prepare Kolokithopita and Spanakopita with locals and members of Effy’s family, who have lived in the area for centuries. We will visit and photograph local olive oil producers and small processing plants to learn the secrets of producing the best cold pressed virgin oils. And of course, we will be trying out all manner of Greek food prepared by western Greece’s grandmothers and great aunts, cousins and daughters. We will travel the coast and stop in stunning coastal fishing villages to photograph and, naturally, to sample the local foods. We will spend a day in an olive grove with some of the most knowledgeable olive aficionados in the Western hemisphere. And by the end of the trip, you will have a mass of photos and recipes from a beautiful people in one of the most picturesque places on Earth. 
 

COST

Cost for this unique 10-day workshop is CDN $6,800/ person, single occupancy and CDN $6,400/ person, double occupancy. Flights are extra [~ $1200 CDN return Montreal to Athens]. The trip includes all transfers to and from the airport & local transport. All breakfasts are included, as well as Welcome & Farewell dinners at some of Pilos’s best restaurants. All other meals, drinks and gratuities are not included. Trip cancellation, medical insurance, passport fees and other incidentals are extra.

• Balance of fee is due July 1st, 2020.

• There is a $700 non-refundable cancellation fee up to September 1st, 2020.
